My Sisterlocks™ Journey has been going since April of 2013. I started my locs journey as a way to incorporate my hair into my lifestyle. I loved getting extensions and getting my hair done, but that was no longer convenient or a wanted lifestyle. I wanted to be natural as much as possible. I got tired of not being able to style my hair after sports or putting effort into my natural hairstyles. My journey had only just begun when I was locked. as I developed a love and a passion for the lock journey with others. Starting my Sisterlocks™ business, I continued my journey by taking the training class in 2018, amongst other lifestyle decisions. I began my journey to becoming a certified conultant which was acknowledge October 2019. As a Certified Sisterlocks Consultant, I hope to bring to you the best in service!
My Skincare Journey has been, what most experience, an absolute nightmare. I used to be on medication and absolutely didn't love it. I tried the cheap options but my sensitivity truly wouldn't allow it. With medication, my skin was left feeling dry. volume over time. This method is done on the natural hair, it is not designed for use with glue, gels, chemicals, waxes, extensions, etc.

Once you have made your decision to join the journey, I will meet with you for a personalized session to get to know what your curent lifestyle is like.
My goal is to help your hair be a part of your lifestyle. Whether you're an athlete, or typically keep a low profile, your hair adapts differently. During this session
we will best see how the locking session will best proceed, and it gives me the opportunity to get to know a little bit more about your hair. We will map out your initial
locking journey and establish a schedule for you at this time.
I ask that you come with your completely washed within 24 hours prior to our consultation, together. Please do not add any products or conditioners, and let air dry, as I will need to see your hair
in its most natural state. At the end of the session I will provide you with at least 9 locks to help me determine the best method for locking your hair. This session may take 1 hour
so please plan accordingly.
This session is designed with you in mind! Once you have made your decision to join the journey, I will meet with you for a personalized session to understand your transfer situation
My goal is to help your hair be a part of your lifestyle. Whether you're an athlete, or typically keep a low profile, your hair adapts differently. During this session
we will best see how the locking session will best proceed, and it gives me the opportunity to get to know a little bit more about your hair.
I ask that you come with your completely washed within 24 hours prior to our consultation, together. Please do not add any products or conditioners, and let air dry.
This session may take 1 hour so please plan accordingly.
If you are coming in with locs ready for a re-tightening, depending on your state of locs, we can extend your time to include a standard re-tightening session. If your locks will require more than a 5 hour time-slot due
to upkeep schedule, we will have to schedule a separate session dedicated to you.
It has been approximately 2-4 weeks since your test locks were put in. Prior to this session please wash your hair at least 2 times no less than 1 week apart. Please ensure
1 of those times is within 24 hours prior to the locking session.
This locking session is scheduled over a 2-3 day period so please bring a good book and a lot of patience. Lunch, water, & snacks will be provided. My goal is to provide you
with a beautiful set of locks.
At the end of the locking session, we will go over maintenance and best practices before you leave on your journey. I will provide you with Starter Kit that will give you all
you need, initially, for your sisterlocks journey. We will confirm our follow up appointment at this time and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have throughout. We will
schedule your follow-up appointment, accordingly.
Congratulations, your journey has started and you are going to truly love your locks. During our follow-up session, I will provide you with your first re-tightening session and we will review the maintenance process and create a consistent follow up schedule based on how your locking pattern adapted to your lifestlye.
Please come with your hair washed and cleaned, within 48 hours, prior to the re-tightening session. As we go through the retightening process, scheduled previously, you will notice your locks constantly changing, this is normal. Locks can take up to, if not more, than a year to settle so you may see your locks developing as we go through. I will always ask to take pictures to share your progress, please let me know if there are any concerns as we go through this process.
Please come with your hair washed and cleaned, within 48 hours, prior to the grooming session. As you go through the process of maintaining your locks, there are times where you may need them cleaned up. This service is separate of the Re-Tightening session. I will go through your locks and have them looking nice and neat by the time you're done. This is not typically required, but sometimes it's preferred for how you want your locks to look.
A: Sisterlocks are a natural way of interlocking the naturally tightly-textured hair for ease in styling and adapting to ones lifestyle.
A: Colouring can damage or harm the hair. Sisterlocks™ is a natural process that does not encourage or inolve the chemicals that are designed for harsh hair. If you choose to change the colour of your natural hair, it is highly encouraged that you wait until your locks settle, as the process of colouring changes the texture of your hair. If preferred, it is recommended that you colour your hair prior to your consultation before your locks are established.
A: Yes, you can get your hair locked with a perm. It is; however, suggested that you let your natural hair grow at least 3-4" prior to your consultation, to best determine how your hair will lock thereafter.
A: Each person's hair is different. The length of time for your locks to settle is based upon care, maintenance, your hair density and curl pattern. This will all be determined by you and your consultant. Typical times have been seen from 6 months to a year, or more.
